Please review these Top 10 Lies Told to Naive Artists and Designers before contacting me concerning work. While they were written for the benefit of artists, anyone interested in an artist's services should become familiar with them as well.
Q: How long have you been drawing?
A: I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. There have been a few long stretches where I didn't produce so much as a sketch, but my earliest childhood memories are of me drawing and coloring with crayons.
Q: Who are your favorite artists? What artists have influenced you the most?
A: Yikes! That's a tough question to answer because I enjoy the work of so many different artists. There's no way I'd attempt to list everyone because I'd almost certainly leave artists off that I'd think of later. Some standouts are John Byrne, Alan Davis, Franco Saudelli, Cameron Stewart and Paul Dini.
Q: Do you mind if I post some of your artwork on another website?
A: Yes, I do mind. Please don't. (I also discourage linking to images on my site. If there's some art here that you'd like someone to see, just direct that person to this site.)
Q: I'd love to have a shirt featuring one of the pieces on your website. Can I buy one?
A: Yup. E-mail me for information on shirt styles and to determine the image's availability for use.
Q: Can you draw something for me?
A: Sure! Send me a detailed description of the project you have in mind, and I'll respond with a price quote.
Q: Well, I've talked to you via e-mail, and even IMed you a few times. We're friends now, sooooo... Can I get something for free?
A: Ummm... No. I enjoy communicating with people about art, and I certainly appreciate compliments and constructive criticism of my work, but e-mail messages do not (in most cases) a friendship make. Besides, if I created free artwork for even a fraction of the people who contact me, I'd never get any real work done.
Q: What are you working on now?
A: For up-to-date information on my current projects (and other stuff I feel like discussing), check out the Main section.
